2022 Monster Energy Guam Motocross Championships Round 8

Round 8 of the 10 round 2022 Monster Energy Guam Motocross Championships was held this past Sunday at the Guam International Raceway in Yigo. Racing kicked off at 10 am with the schedule full of kid’s minibike and kids atv classes along with the bigger riders aboard the big bikes and atv’s. Weather along with course conditions were slick from heavy rains that fell the day before yet were still excellent making for another full day of intense bar to bar motocross.

Highlights and results
In the Open Motorcycle class 85 CyclesPlus Kawasaki rider Blaze Aiken took the overall round win with a first in heat one and a second in heat two. Jr Cepeda aboard his Yamaha took second overall with a third place finish in heat one and a first place finish in heat two. Little Jon Aguon on the Cycles Plus Kawasaki took home third overall with his pair of second place finishes in his heats. The rest of the field finished as follows.

After eight of the ten rounds completed 7 JR Cepeda leads in the Opan Motorcycle class championship points with 350 points over 1 Little Jon Aguon with 3 points. 85 Blaze Aiken sits in third in the championships with 341 points.

The Open Atv class chose not to compete having decided to skip round 8 to prepare for the final two rounds of series scheduled in October.
With just two more rounds remaining of the ten rounds team Cycles Plus rider 4 Robert Bucek with 315 points remains in the Open Atv championship points lead. 2 Georgie Santos second in the championship with 291 points. Third in the championship points is 88 Camilo Lorenzo with 261 points.

In the Schoolboy/girl class Ktm mounted Local Strains team rider 10 Abraham Guerrero took the win in both heats. Taking second was 25 Lawrence Limtiaco on a Kawasaki with 8 Kanen Arceo taking third and 17 Isaiah Salas in fourth. 33 Mariana Wenden took fifth followed by 27 Drake Garcia in sixth.
After eight of ten rounds completed 10 Abraham Guerrero leads the championship in the Schoolboy class with 394 points over 25 Lawrence Limtiaco with 310 points. Third in the championship points is 33 Mariana Wenden with 294 points.

In the Open Minibike class 31 Richard Wenden on his Rocky Mountain Precast supported Ktm took the sweep in both heats for the overall win. 18 Jonathan Aguon aboard a Kawasaki was second with 8 Kanen Arceo in third. Rest of the field finished as follows

After eight of the ten rounds completed 31 Richard Wenden leads the championship in the Kids Open Minibike class with 391 points over 18 Jon Boy Aguon with 361 points. Third in the championship points is 23 Jonaye Cruz with 290 points.

In other class results

Open Novice Motorcycle class saw Local Strains team rider 20 Zac Cruz on a Kawasaki took first with 25 Kawasaki mounted Lawrence Limtiaco in second and 8 Kanen Arceo in third folloed by 17 Isaiah Salas in fourth. Fifth went to 96 Jude Sandlin. The rest of the field finished as follows
